The activity

How the class works

Water exercise for expectant mothers, for their psychological and physical well-being and that of the baby. An easy way to keep moving throughout pregnancy, letting the water support you.

The class lasts 50 minutes and takes place under the instructor's supervision: mothers focus on deep breathing, which helps them tune into themselves and improves the connection with the baby.

Class goals

  1. 01Improved blood and lymphatic circulation, to prevent and reduce water retention, edema and swelling
  2. 02Awareness and control of the correct position of the pelvis, back and shoulders
  3. 03Relief of any tension in the neck, upper back and lower back
  4. 04Control and improvement of breathing capacity
  5. 05Maintaining and improving muscle tone and overall flexibility
  6. 06Deep relaxation
  7. 07Socializing: moments to meet and share with other expectant mothers going through the same experience

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about Corso Gestanti

Yes, the class is designed for the whole pregnancy, and the instructor adapts the exercises to your trimester and how you feel. Always check with your gynecologist before starting: they're the only one who knows your situation.
Yes, the certificate of fitness for non-competitive sport: it must state that you have had an electrocardiogram (ECG) at least once in your life, and it can be issued by your GP, a sports doctor or a doctor of the Federazione Medico Sportiva Italiana. You upload it from the app, in Home โ†’ Certificate: it is no longer sent by email, and no paper copy is needed. You need it even if you book and pay for a single class: it's a legal requirement, not a condition of the membership.
You can book and pay for a single class at โ‚ฌ22, one at a time, with no commitment and no joining fee: it's the option best suited to a pregnancy. If you have a membership that includes Aqua Fitness, the course is already included.
In Talenti, in North Rome, at Via Ugo Ojetti 134 โ€” handy from Montesacro, Bufalotta and Porta di Roma.
From the Athlon Club app (on your phone or in the browser, at app.athlonroma.it), starting 3 days before the class (72 hours), and booking stays open until the class starts: you can book even at the last minute, there's no advance cutoff. Spots are limited โ€” up to 3 active bookings at a time for Corsi Fitness, Aqua Fitness and Scuola Nuoto Adulti, 1 for Group Reformer โ€” and if a class is full you can join the waiting list: if someone cancels, you take their place in order of arrival. The waiting list is for bookings only: it doesn't exist for enrolling in a group of the children's courses, see its FAQ.
You can cancel up to 1 hour before the start for group classes and 2 hours before for one-on-one sessions: that margin gives people on the waiting list time to be notified and take your place. After that deadline you can no longer cancel, not even through the front desk. If you had bought a single class and you cancel in time, the access you had bought is credited back to you (this applies to any single class, of any activity) โ€” the product, not the amount: you don't get a refund or a credit in euros โ€” and you use it for a new booking within 30 days of the date you bought it. A single class is valid for 30 days from purchase, and canceling doesn't extend the expiry: it doesn't restart from today or from the day you canceled. When you book again, the app doesn't ask you to buy it again: that's how you can see the credit is there.
Swimsuit and swim cap, a personal towel and flip-flops.
Yes, with the Guest Pass Premium: 7 days with access to the whole club for โ‚ฌ19. It's reserved for those who haven't had an Athlon membership or Guest Pass in the last 3 years. If a member sends it to you as an invitation, you have 30 days to activate it from when you receive the invitation. Alternatively you can book and pay for a single class, with no joining fee โ€” but this applies to adult single entries. It only covers adult activities: it doesn't include children's courses or personal training. For a children's course that also sells single classes โ€” like Baby Nuoto โ€” the trial is booking and paying for that class, not the Guest Pass: there, the contractual joining fee of โ‚ฌ50 one-time is paid anyway, even on the single class. Request the Guest Pass.
