The Athlon Sports Education Center, to improve the sports training of its students, is holding the Trofeo Athlon 2026/27 of the Scuola Nuoto. Participation is open to ASI-registered members who regularly attend Scuola Nuoto courses, and is optional. Who can compete is decided by the Technical Department based on the level reached: the minimum level is A3, already obtained.

Categories

Participants compete divided by age category, level and sex: each group has its own ranking. The age categories for the 2026/27 season are:

  • 2022 – 2021
  • 2020 – 2019
  • 2018 – 2017 – 2016
  • 2015 – 2014 – 2013

A category may include one or more heats. The level is the child’s level at the time of entering that race. There are four level groups: A3 – M1, M2 – M3, B1 – B2 and B3 – B4 – B5 – B6.

The club reserves the right to change the calendar.

  • A3 – M1: 25 m backstroke kick, arms down
  • M2 – M3: 25 m backstroke kick, arms up
  • B1 – B2: 25 m backstroke
  • B3 – B4 – B5 – B6: 50 m freestyle

Race 2 · Sunday 21 February 2027

  • A3 – M1: 25 m backstroke kick, arms up
  • M2 – M3: 25 m freestyle kick with kickboard
  • B1 – B2: 25 m freestyle
  • B3 – B4 – B5 – B6: 50 m breaststroke

Race 3 · Sunday 18 April 2027

  • A3 – M1: 25 m freestyle kick with kickboard
  • M2 – M3: 25 m backstroke
  • B1 – B2: 50 m freestyle
  • B3 – B4 – B5 – B6: 100 m individual medley

Prizes, points and rankings

At the end of each race a ranking is drawn up and the top 3 in each age category, level and sex are awarded prizes. All participants receive a participation medal.

Each race awards points for the final ranking:

  • Place 1: 100 points
  • Place 2: 70 points
  • Place 3: 50 points
  • Place 4: 30 points
  • Place 5: 10 points
  • Place 6 and below: 5 points

Equal race times get the same points. Anyone who is absent or disqualified in a race gets 0 points, and that race does not count as taken part in.

Anyone who takes part in all the races receives a bonus of 30 points.

At the end of the last race, each participant’s points are added up and a final ranking is drawn up for each category, which determines the winners. In case of a tie, the Technical Committee draws up the ranking on the basis of the technically most notable race times, also taking into account head-to-head results between the contenders for the final win and their swimming technique. The Technical Committee then declares, among the category winners, the overall male and female winners of the Trofeo Athlon, as those who stood out for the best technical and timed performances.

How to enter

Entry is online, in the Athlon Club app.

  1. Open Junior and choose the child.
  2. Tap Races and, on the race you want, Enter and pay.
  3. Pay the €8 per race fee by card.

Rankings are separate for boys and girls: we work out the sex from the child’s tax code, and only if we can’t work it out do we ask you to state it.

The entry is confirmed only once payment has been made, and after that you see it with the time slot and the event for the child’s group. We also email you with all the information. The time slot shown is the race start time: check-in is always 30 minutes before. Once the race is over, the same item shows the time, position and points. To enter you need level A3 obtained and a year of birth within the four categories: if one of the two is missing, the app tells you which.

The fee is not refunded.

Placement trial

For which course?

The trial is an assessment in the water, during a real training session. Choose the group: the years of birth help you recognize it.

Answer honestly: the trial is done together with the group, and a level different from the group's doesn't take twenty minutes to show in the water — it shows right away.

Swimming school first

Better to start from the course.

To join this group you need all the technical skills of the required level: it's the level the group already trains at, and anyone who starts further behind spends the season catching up instead of having fun.

Scuola Nuoto Bambini is exactly the place to reach that level — groups by age, an assigned instructor and progress you can check — and moving on from there to competitive swimming is something we do every year.
